Corberán: "The fans want to see a committed and dedicated team, and that's what they’ll get"
The Valencia CF coach speaks ahead of the match against Real Madrid CF
Valencia CF representatives continued an annual preseason club tradition this Wednesday, presenting a floral offering to the Virgin Mary at the Basilica de la Virgen de los Desamparados. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the offering was made behind closed doors and strictly following safety measures.
Whilst normally the entire squad would attend, the restrictions meant that a reduced group were present. Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, coach Javi Gracia, players José Luis Gayà and Jaume Domènech, and board member José Luis Zaragosí were those chosen to make the offering on behalf of the club.
Jaume Domènech: “We start the season in very good form”
“It's a tradition that we have every year, in which we come here to make an offering to the Virgin Mary. We have asked for good health, to be able to do our job at the highest level and give our all,” said Domènech, one of the club captains.
“We've had players leave, but we have young players who are very ambitious. We are working very hard with the new coaching staff. We are convinced that we are going to get good results.
“The performances in preseason, in our friendlies and in the training sessions I've seen every day, make me believe that we are very well prepared for the start of the LaLiga season. I think that we are in good form, and ready to compete against anyone.”
